“I have lived in Hertfordshire for most of my life, having moved from North London at an early age, with my parents. I moved to Welwyn in 1976, with my wife, Pamela, and three young children. I am in full-time employment as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry. Prior to joining Welwyn Parish Council, I was a member of Welwyn Round Table, where I was involved in projects to raise monies of local charities. Following the Round Table, I joined the Parish Council to continue my interest in local issues. I have been a Parish Councillor for over 20 years and I represent the Oaklands and Mardley Heath District. During my time with Welwyn Parish Council, I have gained experience by sitting on all the Council’s committees, and as Chairman of the Finance Committee. I am privileged to be a past Chairman of the Council and currently I am Chairman of the Planning and Licencing Committee, where I believe my experience in the construction industry is of use. I represent the Council as a Trustee of Welwyn United Charities and was previously a Governor at Oaklands School. I have always enjoyed living in Oaklands and the Parish Council gives me the opportunity to be involved in the local community.”
